Biography
Ana Vivoda
Ana Vivoda PhD is a visual artist and educator, born in 1979 in Rijeka, Croatia. She graduated from the Department of Visual Arts of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Rijeka, continued education at the Royal University College of Fine Arts, Stockholm, Sweden and attained PhD at Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb, Croatia. Her research fields include print-based art practices dealing with questions of identity, feminist or environmental issues, while her art educational projects nourish collaborative and participatory aspects of art.
She worked at the Academy of Applied Arts, University in Rijeka, Faculty of Teacher Education, University in Rijeka and currently works as Full Professor of Art Education at the University of Zadar, Croatia, holding the following courses; Visual Culture, Graphic Communications, Art Approach to Children’s’ Literature, Croatian Artistic Heritage and Mediums of Contemporary Visual Arts. Through Erasmus+ programme, she was teaching at the University of the West of Scotland, UK, University of Porto, Portugal and she was a guest lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts, University in Zagreb, the Academy of Applied Arts, University in Rijeka, Croatia and The Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš, Serbia. Ana Vivoda is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU) in Zagreb, she had numerous solo exhibitions (in Rijeka, Zagreb, Madrid (Spain), Lošinj, Niš (Serbia), Pula and Split). She participated in around two hundred international exhibitions around the world (International Print Triennial Krakow, Guanlan International Print Biennial China, German International Exhibition of Graphic Art Frechen, International Graphic Biennial Splitgrafic, New Prints exhibitions at International Print Center New York, International Biennial Print and Drawing Exhibition, Taiwan, International Competition of Contemporary Art, Alicante, Spain, International Artist Book Biennial Egypt,International Graphic Biennial Sarcelles, France and others.
Her woks are included in relevant national and international art collections (Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, Cabinet of Prints, Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka, Collection of Prints of National and University Library in Zagreb, Museum of Arts and Crafts, Croatia International Graphic Centre, Ljubljana (Slovenia), Bibliotheca Alexandrina, (Egypt), Museo de Universidad de Alicante, (Spain), Kyoto, Kyoto International Woodprint Association's Collection (Japan) and others.
