Jasminka Brala-Mudrovčić

Jasminka Brala-Mudrovčić was born on July 10, 1971 in Gospić. She studied at the Faculty of philosophy in Zadar, where she graduated in Croatian language and literature in 1995, while in 1996 she graduated in Organization of cultural activities. In the same year, she enrolled in a postgraduate study program of literature at the Faculty of philosophy in Zagreb, where she received her master’s degree in 2003 followed by her doctoral degree in 2008. She worked for 12 years as a Croatian language teacher at the Gospić Grammar school with general program. She was the head of the Expert council for Croatian language teachers for secondary schools in the County. She has been promoted to professor mentor, and has participated in numerous projects initiated by the Education and teacher training agency. She was a guest lecturer at the meetings of Expert council heads. She worked as an external associate at the Faculty of teacher education in Gospić (University of Rijeka) upon which she was promoted to senior assistant in 2010, while in 2011 she got employed by the University of Zadar (Department of teacher studies in Gospić). She was granted a scientific title of a research associate for the area of humanities – field of philology in 2015, and in 2016 she was granted a scientific and teaching title as well as a work position of an assistant professor. Until present, she has been teaching the following university courses: Methods of teaching the Croatian language 5, Language communication, Croatian language 1 and 2, Book report in class teaching, Croatian literature in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Croatian literature from Renaissance to Enlightenment, Written creation, Norms of the standard Croatian language, Croatian oral literature, Croatian literature abroad, Stylogenetics of linguistic devices Phonology of the Croatian standard language, Morphology of the Croatian standard language, Syntax of the Croatian standard language, Lexicology of the Croatian standard language, Language communication, Stage culture. She was a mentor in writing several dozens of diploma theses as well as a vice-president of Organization board of scientific and professional meeting with international participation held in 2015 at the Department of teacher studies in Gospić. She also edited the collection of the papers presented at the meeting. She is a member of Organizational and Program board of scientific and professional meetings entitled Dani Ante i Šime Starčevića and the International Program and Review board of the EDUvision Conference in Slovenia, she is the president of The quality committee of the Department of teacher studies in Gospić. She is an active participant in scientific and professional meetings in Croatia and abroad. Additionally, she is the author of the scientific monograph Putevima hedonizma (Komediografski rad Milana Begovića), as well as of a series of chapters in various books, and scientific and professional papers. In 2017, she was awarded a Silver charter by Matrix Croatica for the co-authored book Lika i velebitsko primorje u hrvatskoj književnosti. She reviewed a series of articles in scientific journals and several scientific books, and proofread many books with scientific as well as literary and artistic content. She researches literary theory of the Croatian literature and language. She is a member of the Department of Chakavian parliament of the Gacka province, Croatian philological society, Matrix Croatica, Croatian Mariology institute, Cultural association of heritage and creation Baštinica, and finally she is a representative of Lika-Senj County in Association of Croatian language teachers.
